Close neighbour to Burgundy, the region of Franche-Comté, (like many cooler areas in the wine world), benefits from global warming. The Pinots produced have riper flavours and more depth. Deep ruby colour, the nose exhibits lovely berry fruit. The mouthfeel reveals seductive flavours, great balance, fresh acidity and a lingering hint of bitterness. A light but flavourful red that offers great value when compared to higher priced red Burgundies. A great match with pork fillets in a raspberry vinegar sauce.
