Quite reliable, Cosse-Maisonneuve produces reds with character and potential. This superb Cahors is obviously dominated by Malbec (90%), with Merlot (7%) adding texture (velvety) and Tannat (more) structure. The typical charming nose displays berry fruit, graphite and black liquorice scents. A bold red offering good extract and firm tannins, while remaining balanced. The fan of Cahors will be seduced. Enjoyable now, it could age favourably 3 to 5 years. Simply grilled beef will (soften the tannins and) do the trick.
